The EATRIS Multi-omics Toolbox (MOTBX) is intended to be a community-driven knowledge base designed to support researchers in academia and industry focusing on multi-omics approaches for personalised medicine.
Developed under the EATRIS research infrastructure and the flagship project EATRIS-Plus, MOTBX originated as a platform to share resources used and developed during a multi-omics demonstrator cohort analysis. The cohort comprising healthy individuals from a Czech biobank*, where multi-omics analyses were conducted on individual samples by different EATRIS institutes across Europe to showcase the use of quality control and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data analyses. Standardised protocols for sample analysis by different -omics technologies, data acquisition and processing, quality control, and FAIRification practices (for data and metadata) employed in the EATRIS-Plus project are shared as part this Multi-omics Toolbox and tagged accordingly.
MOTBX offers a selection of external resources on quality control and assessment, best practices and protocols for individual omics technologies, as well as FAIR data management and data analysis resources. MOTBX is envisioned to be a continuously improving resource, its expansion driven by the requirements and contributions of the translational research community.
